At Perry Memorial Hospital, we understand that testing can’t always be done during regular office hours. That’s why we offer testing 24 hours a day for emergencies. You can feel confidence in the skill and accuracy of Perry Memorial’s Laboratory professional pathologists, medical technologists and technicians.
Our laboratory offers testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology and Urinalysis, Coagulation, Immunohematology and Serology. Transfusion services are also offered. Most testing is completed at Perry Memorial Hospital and results sent directly to the ordering physician that day. Pathology Services and Reference Laboratory testing are also provided through contractual arrangements.
The Laboratory staff consists of highly trained, compassionate individuals including board-certified pathologists and medical technologists and technicians.
Perry Memorial Hospital’s Laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and provides services for inpatients, outpatients and the specialized needs of nursing homes. CAP conducts an extensive and rigorous inspection every two years to ensure that all necessary guidelines are being followed by the hospital Laboratory. To maintain an accredited status with CAP, the Laboratory must adhere to regulations governing quality assurance, credentialing of staff, and competency of staff through continuing education and competency testing.
