The Perry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is now accepting applications for the 2020 Abbie Jean Gunning Memorial Scholarship & the Harold Morine Scholarship.

Abbie Jean Gunning was the first Auxiliary President. In 1960, the first scholarship in her honor was awarded.   The Morine Scholarship is an award bequeathed by Harold Morine in 1981 in memory of his wife, Marilyn Morine, who was a nurse at Perry. 

Scholarships are available to students who will be graduating from high school or are enrolled in a post-secondary school, community college, college, or university in a healthcare career.  We also encourage those returning to school for advanced education in healthcare to apply for a scholarship award.  Applicants must have a permanent residence within Bureau County and be pursuing a healthcare career, including but not limited to, the following fields: nursing, radiology, lab technology, physical or occupational therapy and pre-med.

  • Education: Demonstration of academic achievement accompanied by high school or college transcripts, volunteer and/or work history and health related activities.
  • Applicants must plan to attend a post-secondary institution for a health career field of study.
  • Completed applications must be returned to Perry Memorial Hospital, attention Donna Braida, by 4 p.m. April 1, 2020.
  • Incomplete or late application packets will not be accepted. Scholarship recipients will be notified of their award.
