2021 Auxiliary Scholarships

Growing Perry’s Next Generation of Care Givers

Are you considering the healthcare or clinical field or advancing your education?

The Perry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is now accepting applications for the 2021 Abbie Jean Gunning Memorial Scholarship and the Harold Morine Scholarship.  This year, a total of three Abbie Jean Gunning Scholarships and two Harold Morine Scholarships will be awarded, at $1,000 each.

Abbie Jean Gunning was the first Auxiliary President. In 1960, the first scholarship in her honor was awarded.   The Morine Scholarship is an award bequeathed by Harold Morine in 1981 in memory of his wife, Marilyn Morine, who was a nurse at Perry.

Scholarships are available to students who will be graduating from high school or are enrolled in a post-secondary school, community college, college, or university in a healthcare career.  We also encourage those returning to school for advanced education in healthcare to apply for a scholarship award.  Applicants must have a permanent residence within Bureau County and be pursuing a healthcare career, including but not limited to, the following fields: nursing, radiology, lab technology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or pre-med.

  • Education: Demonstration of academic achievement accompanied by high school or college transcripts, volunteer and/or work history and health related activities.
  • Applicants must plan to attend a post-secondary institution for a health career field of study.
  • Completed applications must be returned to Susan Gorman at 901 Elm Pl Princeton, IL 61356, or emailed to gorman.susan@comcast.net by 4 p.m. April 1, 2020.
