Perry Memorial Auxiliary announces the open of application acceptance for the 2019 Abbie Jean Gunning Memorial Scholarship & the Harold Morine Scholarship.

Abbie Jean Gunning was the first Auxiliary President. In 1960, the first scholarship in her honor was awarded.   The Morine Scholarship is an award bequeathed by Harold Morine in 1981 in memory of his wife, Marilyn Morine, who was a nurse at Perry. 

Scholarships are available to recent high school graduates and advance degree candidates who have a permanent residence within Bureau County and are pursuing a healthcare career.  Applicants are required to be pursuing a degree in healthcare including but not limited to, the following fields: nursing, radiology, lab technology, physical or occupational therapy and pre-med.

  • Education: Demonstration of academic achievement accompanied by high school or college transcripts, volunteer and/or work history and health related activities.
  • Applicants must plan to attend a post-secondary institution for a health career field of study.
  • Completed applications must be returned to Perry Memorial Hospital, attention Donna Braida, by 4 p.m. May 6, 2019.
  • Incomplete or late application packets will not be accepted. Scholarship recipients will be notified of their award.
