Since the nineteenth century, the Chinese have understood the immense health benefits of Tai chi. Gentle, graceful and circular movements create a relaxed and slow exercise tempo. Mental concentration is enhanced with deep slow breathing.

Style Used

Perry’s Jereen Mercer, COTA, utilizes the Sun Style, which improves agility, mobility and balance with the steps forward and backward motion.


Tai chi benefits and appeals to all ages because the movements' rhythmic, slow and fluent motions which can be adjusted based on your individual needs. The results include an increase in flexibility while gradually building muscle, improved posture, balance, mobility and overall health.

Registration is not necessary. New participants are always welcome. Individual results may vary. Consult your physician before beginning any new exercise program. Mondays and Thursdays, 10:15-11:15 a.m.; $5 fee per class. Call 815-876-4494 and ask to speak to Jereen for more information.
